The Hamburg Senate today presented a funding concept for the bid for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036, 2040 or 2044.
Eckart Maudrich, spokesperson for NOlympia:
“The public sector is donating €200 million and withdrawing €100 million from it, citing the profit in the implementation budget. He accepts the same ticket sales, but sells 2 million tickets less, which equates to an average ticket price increase from 110 euros to 130 euros (+20 euros).%) It certainly isn't a party for everyone. Unfortunately, the share of the compensation costs in the energy costs for allowances in 2040 and 2044 for the 2.1 million t CO2 remains open, but is an essential component for the implementation of the future decision. The fact that the Senate only draws up an investment cost statement for three future dates, even though already known problem areas (completions 2036 for Science City, U-5 arenas, S6 Bahrenfeld) would certainly lead to time-differentiated compensation costs, is not objectively comprehensible. The Senate omits security costs, which amounted to 1.7 billion euros in Paris. Multifunctional arena and Elbdome are left out. The Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid cost 1.4 billion euros. It is well known that there is no needs analysis available for this measure. In short: All this shows: The Senate refuses the Hamburgers a serious assessment of the actual costs of the Olympic Games. Those who disseminate such figures should not be entrusted with the implementation of one of the most financially risky mega-projects at all.”
