ST. PAULI says NO to Olympia!

On the Heiligengeistfeld in front of the Millerntor, fans of FC Sankt Pauli form the lettering "NOlympia". The picture is heavily edited.

Numerous fan clubs of FC Sankt Pauli position themselves in a joint statement on Hamburg's Olympic bid:

This year in May As was the case most recently in 2015, Hamburg will once again submit an Olympic bid by referendum to be voted on. Eleven years ago, the hamburgers against Olympia Our fan scene had also clearly positioned itself against it at the time. The conditions have hardly changed since then:

Andy Grote now promises the presentation of "the beautiful side of the city" with "Festival character“. Most recently in Paris 2024 we were able to experience: A state of siege by tens of thousands of security forces: Greetings from the G20 –around the venues would be a consequence. And at least 24 olympic SPORTS According to the current state of play, direct access to ST. PAULI take place!

Please don't!!!

What we would get in Hamburg until the Olympics:

For the Olympic Games brand, the city and the district are being built correctly, with expected consequences:

  • Rent increases for apartments & our shops in the district!
  • Extension of numerous monitoring measures, which will remain in place afterwards
  • Cuts to social institutions in favour of a single mega-event
  • Savings in the cultural sector, schools, inclusion, climate, etc.
  • Bread & Games: Full attention to Olympics and distraction from important issues
  • Racial profiling: Increase in racist police controls
  • Increase in displacements of disadvantaged people who do not fit into a tourist cityscape

What we would have to endure in HH in the Olympic year:

As early as 2024, the fan club tournament was cancelled, as the Millerntorstadion was needed for the preparations for the European Championships. In the Olympic year, our stadium would certainly not be used for fan activities for a long time. In addition, the Olympic experience from Paris 2024 also gives us an idea of the stress we would face in the host year:

  • Safety zones: 500 meters around the venues
  • Dangerous areas, access for residents only with QR code
  • Increase in uninitiated controls Restriction of freedom of movement and assembly
  • Traffic chaos and construction noise throughout the year
  • Ordinary helicopter alarm
  • More touring and price increases throughout the city
  • Olympic Lanes (extra lanes for officials, media and athletes) in the middle of St. Pauli and large parts of the city

AND OUR STADIUM EXCHANGE?

The Millerntor Stadium will also be expanded without the Olympics! Oke Göttlich made it clear at the Annual General Meeting in November that the policy's commitment to supporting the stadium expansion is independent of the Hamburg Olympic bid.

FOOTBALL AT OLYMPIA?

The Olympic football tournament would not even be held in Hamburg, but from Dresden via Magdeburg to the Baltic Sea stadium of Hansa Rostock.

NO BOCK ON THE IOC!

  • The International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the organizer commercializes the sport and determines, pays no taxes and individuals collect the profits, while the risks and main costs remain with the people in the host city.
  • The IOC is characterized by: Corruption, doping scandals, lack of athletes' voices, lack of human rights standards and undemocratic structures.
  • Many sponsors of the Olympic Games would have no chance at the FCSP because of our common guidelines, because they invest in armaments or fossil fuels or, for example, airbnb contribute directly to the shortage of housing in the city.

SIGNATURE COLLECTION!

Around the home game against Stuttgart will be played by NOlympia Hamburg (www.nolympia-hamburg.de) Collected signatures so that the counter-arguments can also be included in the electoral documents of the planned Olympic referendum:

Sign, inform, become active and vote NO in the referendum on 31 May!

We fan clubs of FC St. Pauli want to preserve our free space, our shops should remain in place for a long time. We want to continue to live out in and around the stadium, to be able to go crazy and to cheer on our team. Affordable housing and the preservation of social facilities in the district as well as in the entire city are important to us. Not a foot's breadth to the corrupt and purely greedy IOC! And we do not let ourselves be blinded: For the numerous promises of the politicians, there is no need for an Olympic Games! We have no bearing on the catastrophic impact in the neighborhood and throughout the city and say: No to Olympia!
