Nolympic record Milano Cortina 26

Today, the Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo come to an end. The balance sheet clearly speaks against the IOC and the Olympic Games and is relevant for the debate about a Hamburg Olympic bid:

Public budget

Planned: 1.3 billion euros. Realises: 5.7 billion euros[1].

Entrance fees

Access to the Opening Ceremony: Average price about 870-1200 euros. Sports events: Mostly from 100 euros[2].

Liberties

Introduction of "security decree" in Italy. Preventive security custody enables the "enemies of Italy", i.e. those who demonstrate against the Olympics, to be locked away on suspicion[3].

mitigation

The CO2Estimated budget of Milano Cortina is one million tons of CO2 – for 14 days.[4] That's more than double the CO.2-Budgets of Hamburg in 2040 and 2044 for 365 days and all sectors (0.4 million tons of CO)2). In contrast to the Hamburg Climate Protection Act, the IOC authorizes balance sheet rules to purchase CO by means of certificates.2 to compensate. – Paris 2024 (2.1 million tonnes of CO)2) was five times the quantity allowed in Hamburg in 2040 and 2044.

Neutrality of sport

The IOC bought the film rights for Leni Riefenstahl's 1936 recordings. During the Winter Games, motifs of the 1936 games could be purchased in the fan shop.[5]

Real estate prices

Data of the real estate portal Idealista (see Graphic in attached PDF) point in a similar direction to the PyeongChang 2018 study[6], which showed a significant increase in the price of real estate due to the games. The Idealista data, which also includes non-Olympic effects, show an acceleration of 6-8% annually compared to the pre-Olympic period.
