The billionaire, the love of sports and the neighborhoods

The multi-billionaire, CEO of ECE and namesake of the Alexander Otto Sportstiftung, is donating €0.001 billion to 104 projects from 104 districts today. Since 2006, project-related foundation funds worth a good 14 million euros have been awarded as well as two major projects with a total value of 23 million euros. The largest association-related single donation, worth 15 million euro and in the form of the Volksbankarena went Finally, the HSV. “The ECE website states that as a partner of customers, you always act like an investor and are often personally involved. Is it conceivable that the donation of millions could also benefit economic interests by chance? In terms of appreciation, the HSV is clearly ahead of Olympia with more than 15 times the sum of the foundation. Those who do not benefit from Olympia are the people of the city who do not own real estate – such as the tenants of the 770,000 rental apartments in Hamburg, who according to studies have to adjust to rent increases as a result of the Olympic bid.”
